Date Night: Boulder Dinner Theater

Have you been to the Boulder Dinner Theatre? We drive by it all the time, but nothing seemed to catch our attention until they were featuring Avenue Q.  Avenue Q has won awards for Best Musical and Best Score. I think they said it perfect, "Avenue Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart." I was a little sceptical given the puppet approach, but the play is totally geared toward adults. It is silly, laugh of loud entertaining. Go see it! (but eat before you go, haha the food...not so much)

Happy Birthday Dad!

We took my Dad out to celebrate his 59th birthday. Next year is 60, that's a biggie! We had heard nothing but good things about Lola in the Highlands neighborhood so we headed there. It is right next to Little Man so any excuse to get ice cream sounded like a good plan. The restaurant was okay.  I think I over hyped it for myself, but as always Little Man was delicious. If you are ever in Denver you should go! Salted Oreo is the best. Happy Birthday Dad!

DIY: Wrapping Paper

A while back I bought the Ikea MALA drawing paper with no purpose in mind.  I find myself using it for all kinds of things, but mostly to wrap presents.  I like it because you can customize the paper anyway you choose. For my dad’s birthday present I used my Lotta Jansdotter stencil creating an argyle pattern. I tied a yarn bow and it was done. Inexpensive, simple, and what any parent wants, a bit of homemade :)

Mud Season

In the spring we took advantage of mud season, sneaking away to Aspen for the weekend. Well we did it again, only this time we went to Vail. Mud season is the best for two reasons: 1/2 price hotels and 1/2 price restaurants. Sadly, we barely missed the height of the changing colors; most of the aspens in the mountains have already lost their leaves.  I love all the architecture in Vail, if you didn't know better you just might think you were away in some Swiss village. We did nothing more than relax and have a good time.

Mood Board: Boy Meets Girl

My sister was in need of a room make-over.  This room needed to function for a toddler boy and a teenage girl. Not the easiest combination, but she was off to a great start and together we came up with this mood board. I love how it turned out! Perfect for boy and girl, young and old.
